On September 14th, 2023, Lex Machina hosted a webcast on the recently released Product Liability Litigation Report 2023. The webcast featured Robbie Jost (Counsel at Crowell & Moring), Richard North (Partner at Nelson Mullins), Ron Porter (Lex Machina’s Legal Data Expert in Product Liability Litigation), and Aria Nejad (Lex Machina’s in-house counsel).
During the webcast, panelists showcased highlights from the analytics and data included in the report and sourced from Lex Machina’s full Product Liability module. The speakers highlighted the valuable insights gained from looking at the data in the product and summary report.
“I do find it interesting that the product liability vehicle cases, when you exclude warranty claims, are essentially static over the years as compared to the pharmaceutical medical device trend, which goes up pretty pronounced.” noted Richard North. While discussing the timing data in the report, Robbie Jost added, “I think that for purposes of advising clients, this data really demonstrates that it’s helpful in helping to match with their goals.”
